How to share Yelp for Business access

Yelp lets each person sign in with their own login, so you never have to share your password. You invite them from User Management in your Yelp for Business account.

The whole process, at a glance

  3. Check and remove later3 of 3

Before you start

Everyone you invite gets the same access you have. That includes replying to reviews, editing your page, managing payment details, and inviting or removing other users. Yelp’s help pages describe no read-only role. Your page must already be claimed. Adding users is free, and you can invite up to 15. Have the person’s email address ready.

Follow these steps

  1. Open User Management

Sign in at biz.yelp.com. Open Account Settings, then select User Management in the left menu. If you don’t see User Management, use the share access request form linked from Yelp’s help page, or call Yelp Support.

  2. Invite the person

Select Invite a User. Choose a job title and enter the person’s email address. Tick the locations they should manage, then select Send Invite. Businesses with 10 or more locations may need to ask Yelp Support to add the user.

  3. Have them accept

The person selects Accept Invitation in Yelp’s email. They then sign in to their Yelp for Business account, or create one. If the email doesn’t arrive, ask them to check spam and the Social tab in Gmail.

  4. Check their access

Return to User Management. Check that the person is listed with the right locations. To change their locations, select the pencil icon beside their name and update the checkboxes.

  5. Remove access when the work ends

In User Management, select the trash can icon beside the person’s name and confirm. Yelp emails users when someone changes their access.

You’re finished when…

The person has accepted, appears in User Management with the right locations, and you have a date to review their access.

If you get stuck

Can I give someone limited access?

Not according to Yelp’s help pages. Everyone you invite can do what you can, including managing payment details and other users. Only invite people you trust with the whole account, and remove them when the work ends.

The invite never arrived

Ask them to check spam and the Gmail Social tab. Then check that you typed the right email address. Yelp’s business support line is (877) 767-9357.

Does it cost anything?

No. Adding users is free, up to 15 users.
